One of the tretinoin creams is used to treat fine wrinkles, dark spots, or rough skin on the face caused by the damaging rays of the sun. It works by lightening the skin, replacing older skin with newer skin, and slowing down the way the body removes skin cells that may have been harmed by the sun. Tretinoin works best when used within a skin care program that includes protecting the treated skin from the sun. However, it does not completely or permanently erase these skin problems or greatly improve more obvious changes in the skin, such as deep wrinkles caused by the sun or the natural aging process.
Before applying tretinoin, wash the skin with a mild soap or cleanser and warm water by using the tips of your fingers. Then gently pat dry. Do not scrub your face with a sponge or washcloth. Wait 20 to 30 minutes before applying this medicine to make sure the skin is completely dry. Applying tretinoin to wet skin can irritate it.
During the first 3 weeks you are using tretinoin, your skin may become irritated. Also, your acne may seem to get worse before it gets better. It may take longer than 12 weeks before you notice full improvement of your acne, even if you use the medicine every day. Check with your doctor if skin irritation becomes severe or if your acne does not improve within 8 to 12 weeks.
Using these products along with tretinoin may cause mild to severe irritation of the skin. Although skin irritation can occur, some doctors sometimes allow benzoyl peroxide to be used with tretinoin to treat acne. Usually tretinoin is applied at night so that it does not cause a problem with any other topical products that you might use during the day. Check with your doctor before using topical medicines with tretinoin.
To help tretinoin work properly, regularly use sunscreen or sunblocking lotions with a sun protection factor (SPF) of at least 15. Also, wear protective clothing and hats, and apply creams, lotions, or moisturizers often.
Retin-A Gel (Tretinoin 0.01% or Tretinoin 0.025%) is a highly effective and popular topical prescription medication used to treat cystic acne. This is an acne that produces boil-like infections on the skin. Blemishes caused by cystic acne usually go deep into the skin, resulting in unsightly acne scars after they have healed.
Although Retin-A Gel is not available at present, we do have a range of other similar prodcucts that also contain Tretinoin, the active ingredient in Retin-A. For example, Aknemycin Plus and Treclin Gel are both very popular acne treatments which contain Tretinoin.
Retin-A has been shown to attenuate and reverse the signs of photodamage, such as coarse wrinkling.[1] Topical retinoids have shown beneficial efficacy and good safety profiles in the management of photodamaged skin, and as therapeutic anti-ageing agents.[2] It has been found that topical application of retinoic acid to chronically photodamaged skin regenerated and restored elastic fibers, and that there was a significant positive correlation between the amount of newly regenerated elastic fiber and the wrinkle improvement caused by retinoic acid.[3]
Retin-A Gel contains the active ingredient Tretinoin 0.01% or Tretinoin 0.025%, which is a form of Vitamin A used in the treatment of acne. It is not known exactly how Tretinoin works, but it is thought to loosen the cells in the surface of the skin. This helps to unblock pores, so that the skin's natural oil producing glands can function normally. In addition, Tretinoin increases the turnover of the skin cells, which aids the natural exfoliation of the outer layers of skin. This also helps to unblock pores and decrease the formation of blackheads (comedones) and spots.
As mentioned previously, unfortunately patients cannot currently buy Retin-A from Medical Specialists. However, both Aknemycin Plus and Treclin Gel are acne treatments that also contain Tretinoin, the same active ingredient in Retin-A.
Tretinoin is one of the structural analogs of vitamin A, also known as trans retinoic acid. The latter is a 1st generation retinoid and has been specially formulated to treat acne (acne and pimples). Numerous studies have shown that it is trans-retinoic acid that is the strongest and most effective form of vitamin A. It has also been observed in studies that tretinoin also helps to reduce the depth of wrinkles.
Treninoin is available in concentrations of 0.025, 0.05 or 0.1% (cream or gel). However, tretinoin is rarely prescribed for the treatment of acne and acne. This is due to the appearance of third-generation retinoids (such as adapalene and tazarotene), which, unlike tretinoin, already have a much less irritating effect on the skin.
In short: tretinoin is a potent drug, but it can only be used in a narrow circle of patients because of its side effects. Reviews will certainly be good, but only with careful selection of patients and the appointment of the correct treatment regimen. Below we will tell you in detail why Tretinoin cream is not always the best choice for treating acne and acne (as well as for correcting wrinkles), and in what cases it will be really useful.
For most patients with acne and acne, there is no point in using tretinoin products, and they will be satisfied with adapalene 0.1%. According to international treatment protocols, it is drugs with topical retinoid adapalene that are the first choice drugs for acne therapy. Alternative retinoids like tretinoin can only be prescribed on rare occasions and will always be the 2nd choice.
You can buy generic Tretinoin on many English-language pharmacy sites. You will be sold cheap Tretinoin online and delivered by mail, pharmacy or other delivery service. Before buying a medicine, check the site well, whether it is a fake and whether they will try to deceive you.
I started with generic Tretinoin 0.05% cream 3 years ago applying it only once a week to start. I worked up slowly to every night over the course of a year to avoid irritation and inflammation. I saw some promising results at my 9-Month Update and even better results at my 2-Year Update.
Would you say the above mentioned results were 100% from the Tretinion Cream or were there other factors in play that also contributed significantly to the improvements Such as other skincare products, fillers, treatments, etc.
Hi Angie! I also use retin A with good results. But I want to ask you if you use it everyday and during the whole year. Do you make any pause Will you be so kind to share your routine with me Thank you!I am from Portugal and I JUST LOVE your vídeos
Hi Angie,I am hoping to try retin-A but have heard stories about it damaging your sight, blurry vision, damage to macular muscles and so on. I was wondering if you had heard anything about this. It has really scared me. Thanks
Angie, I noticed that you are using or promoting Curology. I am using Curology as well and am eased with the results. I still use my tretininoin from Mexico and do not have tretininoin in my Curology.
Please I really need help and advice .I am 34 years old and at the end of January 2016 I decided to start using 0.05% Tretinoin cream(daily/every 2nd day). Then after I realised that my skin tolerates it quite well, at the end of March I have jumped to 0.1% gel( daily).
Is it possible that by strong exfoliation and rapid cell renewal Tretinoin has uncovered previously unseen old acne scars. Will my skin ever even out I am so afraid to use it. Why only left side of my face is affectedI really would appreciate your input.
Your results are amazing Angie, I am starting our with a retinol product Skinmedica .50 just this week. I want to try this for a while maybe 6 months or more (certainly until this summer is over) before going the preIscription Retin-a route. After watching your evening routine on youtube, I noticed that after applying your retin-a, you continued with your skin care routine. Is a wait period after applying retin-a not important I thought it was necessary to wait about 15 mins. What do you think
If you do your research you will find that by adding cream before or after reduces the efficacy of Retin-A a LOT and this technique is called buffering. If you want to get the full results from your retin-A do not apply moisturizer before at all and wait at least an hour, preferably more to moisturize. Not only that, your face needs to be dry as a bone before applying Retin-A for at LEAST 20 minutes to minimize irritation and made a night and day difference for me! (It says this in the instructions by the way) I personally just put on straight Retin-A and then go to sleep. I always wake up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom and that is when I moisturize. If you find the effects of Retin-A are to severe then you may have to buffer but if you stick it out though 2 months it will stop.
I have really enjoyed learning from your experiences, thank you. As I embark on the tretinoin journey, is there anything different to your evening skin care routine you recommend on non-tret evenings I think you are using one of the Olay regenerist serums and moisturizer after the tret. I just wonder if there is something else I should incorporate on the non-tret nights. Maybe the Matrixyl 3000Thanks again!
Tretinoin is a topical cream or gel that requires a prescription. Acne, sun-damaged skin, and fine wrinkles are the most common conditions treated with it. When you apply tretinoin to acne-prone regions of your skin, it helps to unclog pores and cure blackheads and whiteheads. It also has an anti-inflammatory effect.
Tretinoin acts by irritating the skin, which may seem counterintuitive. Tretinoin has the ability to shorten the lifespan of skin cells. It causes them to divide and die more quickly, allowing fresh, healthier cells to take their place.
Tretinoin is a prescription-strength retinoid that works with your skin to regulate and maintain healthier, younger-looking skin by speeding up cell turnover. It produces obvious benefits that aid in the restoration of degradation caused by age and sun exposure. 59ce067264
